Student feedback provides you with information on the way that a student might learn or areas that the student might have difficulties in. By listening to the students, it also shows them that you are interested in what they have to share and you might learn something from them as well.

I really like student feedback to see what the students like about the course and what they do not. It gives the instructor insite into how the students feel about learning the material. It also helps you plan what other resources the students would like you to use in class other than the book.

Hi Betty,
This is so important. By using student feedback you can customize your courses as well as adapt them as needed. This creates a win win situation for everyone.

Student feedback helps me focus on what is important to them and their education. I think it also empowers them and helps them feel that they have a say in this educational process.

Hi Joshua,
In relation to student feedback that will benefit you, you can use 3X5 cards. Hand them out after the completion of a project or assignment. Have the students answer some questions you ask about their feelings in relation to the assignment. This gives you good insight is easy to collect and lets you adjust your assignments while the students giving the feedback are still in the course. I use this method all the time with good results.

Student feedback is important for the instructor because it allows one to gauge what information is being processed. I believe feedback opens the instructor up to positive criticism which could be lost due to lack of objectivity. Student feedback allows me to better plan a course and deliver a lecture which is both stimulating and engaging.

At the end of every course the students fill out a survey on the instructors. Even though they stay anonymous the feedback still helps with our teaching style. I would like to have my own feedback from my students, but the school suggests not to.

BY KNOWING WHAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO LEARN

the student feedback makes me more focus of the course to teach

i accepted the feedback from my students thats the only way i will learn what they said about me and can give me more motivation and challeges.

Feedback of any sort is important in life to constantly improve my efforts in all achievements. However, student feedback can be so influential in keeping my focus on the my students. Student feedback can reveal what students are wanting in the class room. Student feedback is a process that can identify my weaknesses in teaching and what my students like or dislike regarding my teaching. I always try to remember to keep an open mind and take criticism constructively.

So true. The curriculum never get boring because every class can be SO different.

Student feed back is good. Everyone should be open to new learning techniques and construtive ways of doing things different.

Student feedback is very important, because as an instructor, sometimes I'm not sure what is working or not, unless a quiz or test is given. But to have students provide feedback, it's a clear way for me to see how my lessons are going.

Each student is different; as well as thier learning syles. When an instructor uses the student feedback to learn the students then it is easier to focus on them. The feedback can help you adjust for teaching style to fit the student needs rather than your needs as an instructor.

Students are very honest and when you ask them for feedback and really think about what they share with you, you will become a better teacher

Student feedback can help to keep your focus on your students by reenergizing you, the instructor and themselves by clearly providing examples of knowledge learned and applied throughout the course so far. It could also provides strengths and weaknesses of your teaching style and types of learning style that the student enjoyed or remembered best.

Hi Jamie,
Yes, teaching and learning is a two way street. That to me is one of the joys of being a teacher. I get to learn more about my field and from my students. It is a win win for everyone.
Gary

your students aren't only learning from you but you are learning from your students too. just cause we are teaching doesn't mean we aren't done learning

Hi Nancy,
This is so important to both instructional and content improvement. The more input we can have from the students the more information we have from which to make adjustments.
