Kara,
Focus is an important part of teaching. You make a good point about identifying what is pertinent and how to keep the class forward focused and on topic.

It helps to prevent the students from losing interest. I might think something is really interesting and i love to talk about it, we have to stop and think "Is this relevant to the topic? Do others really absorb my idea of pertinent?"

I welcome student feedback. it help me to locate them in the learning process. Is my teaching method on point or due I need to refocus and try another appraoch. I believe that in the beginning of each term you should let your students know that this a learning environment and that learning is a two way street between yourself and them.

If students dont give you any feedback you won't be able to know where the hang-up lies in the learning/teaching process

when I teach ,before moving on,i make sure that students understand the material ,if i realize that some still have difficulties I improvise more exercises to help those students understand the material ,and what i realize it is more difficult to understant i presented to the next group of students in the way that was easier for the previous group, and i also ask the students if the enjoy a certain activity or which way do they enjoy more

Feedback lets me know what part students are having a hard time understanding. Knowing this, I can come up with different ways to present the material. On the other hand, it lets me know that students are grasping the material in the way it was presented.

students feedback is very important for me, it tells me what i have to do more for my students to make them more involved and motivated

With student feedback we are able to reognize problems or potential problems that exsist in the classroom. I look at my feedback and determine where I may have weakness or where content may not be as clear as it needs to be. We may be reviewing material and think that it is perfectly clear but being on the other side of the desks it may not be.

Barbara,
Thanks for sharing this idea with us. The more feedback we can receive the more improvement we can make in our instructional efforts.

I use a assignment called the "Exit Ticket" and it lets my students give me feedback whether its good or bad on my teaching strategies and I use the responses to make me a better instructor each time. Theres always room for improvement.

Tahiddie,
How do you do this with your students?

Khalid,
Student feedback gives us direction as we adapt our instructional delivery and student interactions.

IT WILL HELP YOU TO CATER TO THE NEEDS OF EACH STUDENT

By student feed back we can develope different teaching modalities.

Getting student feedback helps me to growth as a professional.

the retroalimentacionn is important in that way we send our students positively our evaluation of their results, their learning and achieve the goals we have set out in the classroom,

I ask the students questions like , there is another way you prefer this class , tell me opinions about it , becauses each class is different ,so we have to adjust the instructional delivery to the students .

Douglas,
The advantage of the 3X5 cards is that every student will have input and not just the more vocal ones. The key is to get their input no matter how it is solicited. Keep up the good work.

Hi Doug Allen here.

I always give students a chance to "sound off" as it were. providing an avenue for studnet feedback, I have an opportunity to see what I amd doing right, and also what aspects of my teaching are gtroubling to students. I really like the idea of 3 x 5 cards to solicit student responses, although I find that simply by asking the class, I find that they are more than happy to share.

It tells you where that student is in the informational process. Defines a pace for tha class. You make need to take more time with a subject.
