The Human Factor

throughout the years i have that when having students that learn at different rates. It is very important to find out what learning style will help the student get the most out of the class and break the cirriculum down into components that are comprable to the learning abillity. I you can take something that is very hard to explain and very technical the best bbet is to evaluate the classes knowledge and speak on there level. for example: don't use words that are over there head or if you do, explain those words so that they understand. Simple things like this can change the learning enviroment for the entire class

I agree. It is important to understand that there are different learning styles and that everyone learns differently and that you let the students know this. Some people learn by seeing, some by hearing, some by hands-on, and some a combination of all three. When students hear you say these categories, they realize that they fall into one or more of them and realize that you are willing to work with them regardless of which style they happen to be. I also tell my students that some people feel intimidated by raising their hand or asking questions in front of a group. If this is the case, they can approach me after class or call me to discuss their issues.

In my teaching,I always try and make all material relevant to life. I provide many life examples so that allmy students can get a btter understanding of the material. I also stay after class to meet with anyone that needs further instruction. This seems to promote a better understanding for students.
