To Do List

I've found that including even simple things on my to do lists... "check email", etc. give me a sense of accomplishment. I then feel motivated to continue completing items and crossing them off.

Writing things down on a "TO DO LIST" is an excellent way for me to make sure I am addressing everything that needs to be addressed cause relying on my memory alone, let's just say isn't a good thing.

Eric, Interesting technique and I can see how this could work well. When you have your list in the classroom, everyone can see what needs to be accomplished. I find that students and fellow faculty members who know the list will help you drive toward the goals of the day. Giving people transparency into your objectives can often be helpful.

Once I started using a To Do List, it helped me organize all my tasks and was very easy to organize with priority.

I like to keep a second running board in the classroom. I use this board as a hit list and check off all the needed goals of the day.

To do lists are a great way to really take stock of what I need to do. I too like putting those little items on my list, as they do take up time collectively. That way, I can review what I actually did accomplish.

a to do list and prioritizing the tasks on it works well in everyday life as well as the classroom. i feel great when i cross off things on my list, and then can create a new list with new priorities on a daily basis.

I use to do lists in my professional and personal life. Not only does it allow me to prioritize and list my tasks, but to allot my "me" time, without costing me in the long run. Writing things down also saves space for more important thoughts, ideas, memories, etc.

Indeed true Marie-Christine and I feel the same way. It gives us a great sense of accomplishment to cross items off our lists.

This works best for me!!!

A to do list is very effective in time management. I used this method at home aswell, for bills, vacation planning and etc. One major motivator is crossing off what needed accomplishing and having it finalized.

yes, in a sense it is like a strategic plan. It gives you a sense of why you need to do what you need to do, what you have yet to do and what you have achieved.
