Organizing Your Course Materials
Normally I teach the same courses. I use the support materials that come along with the books from the publisher. I use the power-point slides and exam creation tools. I also organize my courses in separate folders on a flash drive. I have a folder for each course and sub-folders within those folders for exams, homework assignments, and project assignments. If another instructor is assigned to teach the same course I usually offer them the information within the folders to help if they so desire to use it.
James, Great strategy. A storage cabinet is something simple and small but can make a big difference on your effectiveness. It likely helps keep you organized and also prevents you from having to carry around heavy class materials. I like looking for these small and impactful things when organizing my work.

When you teach different classes that are in different rooms it is nice to have a storage cabinet or desk in each room that you teach in. This can be a real time saver, so you can store your materials in each class.
I have a portable file cabinet with all the documents, materials and notes I use for my classes. I've made my materials available for other instructors to use as well if they need supplemental material. It also helps to have a small notepad with notes for the next instructor on areas to focus on, or if a class isn't fully understanding a topic.
I have a everything digital saved on my thumbdrive and religiously carry it around while teaching my classes. I have also just recently adopted the roll-around trolly that carries all my teaching materials. This has helped me organize my teaching day tremendously.
i also teach three classes a term it is so important to stay on top of material covered and used each.we also have to go from one biuilding other every day.so i have asked for filing cabinets to be placed in each room,to help with each day so i don't have to carry so much stuff and make copies of items to keep for everyday to help keep myself organized ,so i just have to go to class and teach.
I currently teach three classes, and I don't have the benefit of having an office at the school. I've found that creating different sections with-in the bag I carry to school every day helps me stay organized, as well as keeping papers organized and grouped. This can be challenging, but it forces me to remain organized.
I like to organize everything in a notebook, including all notes, powerpoint print outs, tests and quizzes. Anytime they are updated one goes in and the old one removed.
I follow a similar format. I also use the brown expandable folders to place hard copies of items, with the class labeled on the outside. This helps me to not sift through all of the courses I have taught, but to pull all of the materials used for that course that have been saved in the folder.
I use this same methodology. I even have a step by step guide for any instructor that may be filling in for me. I find that keeping items by day is helpful.
