I agree. I use homework to reinforce what they read. I assign some homework to use as a grade, but tell them the more questions they do on their own, the better off they will be when they take their tests. I have also figured out that 1 of my workbooks has the answers in the back so my "lazy" students just copy the answers and don't get anything out of the homework anyway. So that makes more work on me to find other ways to give them homework so they learn the material to have success on the exams.

Alonzo, So true. There are a lot of interesting new homework formats. Some instructors, for example, are asking students to listen to recorded lectures for homework. Then class becomes an engaging question and answer period about the class material. This is an alternative to lecture formats during class.

I feel homework mis important - it helps them review wahhat was dicussed in class as well as gets some of the students to actually get into the book. It is important to grade the homework if you are issueing homework

I have a lot of student that feel that Homework is just our way if keeping them busy. I feel that Homework is a good way for the student to check their knowledge of what they have read and learned from the lecture.

homework is really important for the students in order to reinforce the material that we teach ,something to give to the student so that we get the feedback from the student that helps us improve what we are teaching and the way we are impacting the student's learning process
