Stress Free
It is true that you never can get rid of all stressors, but for me, the outdoors really help me to relax. Camping and fishing seem to be the biggest helps for me. There is nothing better then sitting on a boat with the rocking of the waves or staring at a camp fire.
I enjoy daily walking for short-term stress relief. This past summer I walked the same 3 miles repeatedly (either early AM or later PM)and thoroughly enjoyed observing the succession of blooming wildflowers in the ditches, the amount of milkweed being consumed by the monarch caterpillars, the rise and fall of the water level in the intermittant stream that flowed under the highway, the animal trails passing through culverts, and the territories of the birds. I made mental notes of their activities and progress and began to think of my walks as a time to visit friends. Concentrating on the natural world around me took me away from the stressors of the day.
Great point Michelle. For some people, getting outdoors really works well. Camping and fishing are two great examples.
