Running
Hello,
I take a walk or run to lift my spirits and to get back to basic needs for a more focused class.
I agree with all - that exercise is a great stress reliever, and is a great idea anyway!
Wow, 20 years in the military Luis. Yes, I can imagine you are highly regimented when it comes to physical activity.
I am somewhat of a health nut and a 20 year military veteran so I weight train and run on a regular basis. It helps me tremendously to cope with stress.
Thanks for mentioning Heather. This is an important point. Taking a break can often be just what we need to find a creative solution. Breaks really help us reorient to our problems.
Some of my best ideas for class exercises have been launched on a long bike ride. Biking reduces stress, increases stamina, and is simply enjoyable.
Well, so do I and I do it with my daughter, walking that is, (no running for me). Thus I am also sharing and her company itself is a destresser as she is even keel and level headed, as well as a great listener. Lets go over to Cory's house and play his wii sometime as well!!
Running and biking are great stress relievers. Using my ipod and listening to music takes me to a whole new and beautiful dimension. It is so invigerating!
Running is a great coping mechanism and stress reducer Joshua. I'm glad you've found it helpful.
I like to run in the evenings in order to relieve stress before bed that way I get a better night sleep and feel more refreshed in the morning.
Yes! I like the physiological explanation Juan. For those of us not in the sciences though, walking, jogging and running really do work.
Doing some aerobics for about 10 minutes daily, walking, jogging, running. It will help the brain's sinthesys of serotonin, where it has various functions, including the regulation of mood, appetite, sleep, muscle contraction, and some cognitive functions including memory and learning.
Understanding the benefits of stress relievers is important Gary. Sometimes it can help intensify their effects.
Yes, whenever I go for a walk or a run it relieves stress by giving me a sense of accomplishment because I know I am doing something that is good for me physically and emotionally.

Yes, healthy indeed Rami. Running is a great way to relax and does help you focus on breathing.
With high demands on me during the day, this helps me to just relax, breath, and enjoy life. (It is also very healthy....)
