Coping with Stress
I have found that several of the techniques taught in the lesson have always been good coping techniques for dealing with stress that cannot be eliminated. I have found that listening to music is helpful. Usually easy listening music is always comforting. Since most people enjoy music why not incorporate it into your daily routine to cope with stress.
Timothy, I'm glad to hear music helps you so much. Sounds like you might want to find ways of making it more available to you. Where possible, go ahead and try to download it to your phone or computer. This will give you more flexibility in having your outlet on hand.

I do enjoy listening to music during work when it is appropriate. unfortuanatley it not always available either. so there are times when just walkin helps out as well.
I agree that listening to music is very relaxing and helpful in dealing with stress. I also feel that getting enough sleep is important. There is something to the old adage, “When you have a problem, sleep on it.†I have often found that when I have a problem that is troubling me, I just try to forget about it and go to sleep. Often when I awake, I find that I feel the problem is not that bad and I quickly come up with a solution.
what works for me is to get on my bike and go for a long ride ( by myself). nothing better than a back road ride in the middle of nowhere.
My job and family give me a lot of stress, but I have learned to cope with it with a few odd tricks. First, I talk to the rubber chicken on my desk. He is the best listener I know. Secondly, I read a book backwards. Strangly, this relaxs me. Three, I eat a Snicker bar. i only allow myself one a day, but that one bar with keep me sane (ish) for the rest of the day.
I always keep an MP3 player with me. I find that when I listen to the music, I put my focus on it and not what is causing me stress. I usually can then calm down, relax and get things accomplished.
Music is the best calm's the mind and really helps get you through the day.
Excellent to hear Letisha! It's wonderful to provide students with methods of focusing on their studies. Listening to music is something they enjoy and something that could help.
I agree that music can "take you away" from it all! I have encouraged students on multiple occassions to utilize this when there is background noise that may interfer with their studies.
I use soft soothing music and light exercise as two of my coping techniques. It works for me
I absolutely love listening to music and it de-stresses me and relaxes me like nothing else.
