dealing with stress

We are all going to have stress but we can eliminate alot of it with in ourselves. Make sure to excerise, eat right, dont smoke, dont drink, and most of all make time for the ones you love!!! This is so much easier said then done sometimes the ones we love the most are the same ones that stress us over the top (my kids)!! I have to take the time to look and reflect alot and put into groups stuff I can fix, cant fix and simply do not want to deal with... This has help be a better parent, instructor and coworker.

I also maust exercise to reduce stress. Unfortunaltely when I don't expercise that stresses me out. I must work on just doing the best I can and it is ok to miss a day once in awhile.

I think that stress is normal part of our life. Life with absolutely no stress seems boring to me. But our goal should be more Eustress, less bad stress.

Patricia, Injuries can be major setbacks. As you are experiencing, they can greatly impact our stress levels. It's a challenge getting back up and running. Some instructors make the mistake of trying to get back in the game too quickly. This can cause further delays. I recommend listening to your PT and getting the rest you need.

Vanessa, Indeed. There are some things in life we can change. Other things, we can't change. Knowing the difference and accepting our situations is a great first step. Healthy coping is a second one in the right direction.

It is true some stressors cannot be fixed but learning how to cope with these things in a healthy way it should improve your mood and you will find that these are not so bad to deal with.

I recently hurt myself on the job and have not been able to do my routine exercises. I have definitely noticed the difference in my stress level! I used to look forward to taking time out to go to yoga--I always felt so amazing afterwards! Until I get 100 percent clearance from my PT, I have been doing small stretches and breathing exercises to cope with stress. But, I can't wait until I am back at my regular classes! It really does help to alleviate the everyday stressors in my professional and personal life!

Rory, You are not alone! Many instructors find that exercise is key to their well-being. It's great to be able to get into a routine and have that to look forward to. Exercise can be such a great way to relax and unwind.

One of the major ways of dealing with stress is actually exercising for me. I doing something of exercising it allows me to take my mind off of some of the pressing issues of the day and focus on something that is fun

Stress is an abnormal part of life and daily task. However, ignoring stress and do nothing about it can be fatal. It is medically necessary that stress be managed to reduce its effect on the body and mind .
