Showing examples of the work the students will be doing during the course I feel of what is quality/acceptable work and the expectations that the instructor has for them. It also gives them a goal of what to strive for when completing the workload.

creat interest and motivate

to ensure that the student understands the content delivered and what they will be responsible for completing.

Hi Yvette,
You can save previous students work that have done extremely well with their names marked out to share with students. You may even have to create examples of work to share with students on your own.

Hi Neidra,
Students tend to gain a better understanding when examples are shared.

Patricia Scales

This way they are better oriented for the course.

Students will know what to expect and they will get a visual of the course work.

Showing examples gives the students an idea of what it is they have to do. It actually gets them started with the assignment, and it eases the tension of them not knowing what to do.

please show me way to have do put example in classroom for there work?

If a student is changing careers, the course may not be familiar to them. My recent experience was with business students that I was teaching how to construct the financial statements. They had not seen or heard of the concept before taking my class. So they needed an example.

I agree with you Patrica, because fear is not knowing what to expect in the field. The more that the students know about the reality of their field the more at ease they will be.

Hi Sandra,
Students have better clarity when examples are shared.

Patricia Scales

Hi khalda,
I concur. Students grasp better when a demonstration is shared. Visual is a great way to make things clear to students.

Showing examples of students work will put the students at ease on the very first day. Also, it will provide them with a better expectation of what is required in the course.

It's helpful because the work examples creates a platform for the student and that platform helps the student to understand the content and get the idea of how the particular task are perform. The best examples are laboratory procedures. For example when you show the student how to to do a finger stick, the student will pick up the technique faster after the demonstration. As compare to the lecture on the same topic which will leave them with several questions in their mind.

Providing student with examples allows students to face anxiety that they may have about a particular topic or subject area. At this point you can implement strategies to alleviate their apprehension and address their initial concerns with subject matter. The example then becomes and icebreaker as well as a visual aid for students. When providing these examples it is also important to provide examples with the wrong answer to help student identify potential mistakes.

Most of the students are visual and need to see exactly what you are talking about, also, it creates communication for further instruction.

Hi Zeina,
I agree! Examples solidify things for students.

Patricia Scales

Hi Donna,
I concur. Kinesthetic learners need to feel it/hold it. Visual leaners get it from seeing the example, and auditory learners only need to hear the explanation. Let's reach all learners.

When the instructor shows examples of the work, it helps students absorb and retain information more effectively.
