Common instructor mistakes
We all truly do make mistakes. I have already identified some of the mistakes that I have made. I do try not to repeat them again. It is better to learn from a mistake then to keep repeating it. I do agree that humor can help smooth things over. I find it takes some of the "heat" off of the situation.
I would agree with humor as well! I'm constantly taking notes of things I need to improve or can correct...and this seems to change with every class, every quarter!
Hi Jason,
I am just thinking surely there are not any instructors that say they never make mistakes. You are right, if this is said, students will watch you like a hawk.
Patricia
I think everyone can agree with that. Never let it out that you never make mistakes becasue the student will look for it anywhere they can.
Hi Melanie,
Great point! I have learned many lessons from my students mistakes. I have also learned a great deal from my colleagues mistakes, yet to mention my own. We all make mistakes . . . learn from them.
Patricia
We all make mistakes, were human. As soon as I realize I have made a mistake I adress the issue, and that way I make sure it won't happen again. I learn from my mistakes and sometimes I learn from student mistakes as well.

Yes , from each mistake I've made over the 9 years as an instructor a vital lesson was learned. My students will not ask me personal questions as they were told in the beginning of my class I am a private person. They only know my name and I am very comfortable with that.
Hi Danielle,
From each mistake use it as a lesson learned.
