This is always important, to show all students, that you don't engage in favoritism. And everything that you expect & demand from them, that you pratice this image each & everyday yourself. Finally, you would never ask anything of them, that you are not willing to do yourself.

I agree 100%! The key is to not get too close with any student personally. The relationship should be kept strictly professional.

Even adult students will run all over you, if you allow it. You have to let your students know that you mean business.

If you get too close to your students they tend to look at you as a friend and not thier instructor. When they get a grade they are not happy with it could turn ugley real fast.
So that they wont take advange of you andn take you seriously.
