Technical Skill
If I find myself displaying a lot of soft skills in my classroom, will that in time, affect my audience (i.e. students) into becoming to personal with me in subjects other than lessons at hand?

You need a good balance. Sounds like you are achieving that.

When I first started as an instructor 10 years ago, I was all technicial. It took a while to develop the softskills to go with it. It was hard to develop grace. You have to remember that they people in your classroom have lives outside the classroom. You will find that you have to balance the people skills with your technicial skills. Go too soft and they will run you over, go to technicial and they will tune you out. Of course this is just my observation of how things went for me.
