younger learners tend to rely more on technology, and are very quick to discover answers but then the retainability isn't there, because they can store in a devise and not use the brain to regurgitate information

The Gen Y can Google any topic to find answers to their question, by doing that they developed a lack of thought process for their problem solving skills.

critical thinking is definitely a skill & ability that is lacking in many of this generation. The more we can help them develop this ability the better positioned they will be for careers.

I think that they become entirely too reliant on technology & that puts them at a severe disadvantage when it comes to making critical or analytical decisions. They tend to hesitate instead of acting because they haven't completely understood or taken the time to undersatnd the lessons they have been taught. My opinion may come from my identification with the veteran & boomer generations, as well as my own, the Gen X'ers
