the hardest thing for these students in finding ways to organize the info learned. Seem they are not required to retain info, therefore it is impertinent info

Deronde,
this is a good point to make to the students & to help them understand why they need to learn to think quickly.

I feel a lot of student fill and dump with there class studies. I inform my students that when it pertains to your career it may be only a split second for you to make a decision on a client, where you don't have time to Google.

I agree, some of the courses I teach require a large amount of memorization. My students question the need for memorizing what they can easily look up on the computer, it puts me in a difficult position because I agree with them but can’t share that, my job is to deliver the course as it its written and administer the required tests for course completion.

Andrew,
this is a good point & one of concern. Many of the today's students are not used to retaining info as they feel they can "google" it at any time. For some info this is fine, but there are things that need to be retained to be pulled up in your own mind at a moment's notice.

I agree we are in an age of "fill and dump", what I mean is as soon as the course is over they empty their brain of what they have learned and fill up on the next topic.
