Silly, yet interesting

So I have to say that these suggestions are indeed a bit silly. However, some do have some value to them. For example, on one hand the T-shirt idea is pretty bad and I wouldn't try this for an in-class assignment. Just my opinion. Thanks.

I found the T-shirt idea interesting

Duane, thank you for the suggestion of using this resource for shirts.

If you go online to closeout shirt dealers they can be had very, very cheap. The blank ones are the cheapest.

When I was in school, we viewed this ridiculous video to learn medical terminology. It used cartoon pictures of things like a breast on the mast of a ship so that we could remember the prefix "mast-." At first, I thought it was the dumbest thing on earth, but it worked! I have searched for that video for my students, and I can't find it. I wish I could use it because I still think about those cartoons to help me remember my terminology.

Alexandra that was exactly my thought - a good idea but a bit costly. Still in every class I have some students who are very artistically inclined and I know they would love to do this. I am going to try it!

Alexandra, you can ask students to bring in an old light colored tshirt. Turn it inside out so any printing is not interfering with drawing.

I thought the T-Shirt Idea was interesting as well and fun; I just do not know how practical it would be from an economical standpoint particularly if the teacher's expenses are not reimburse. A way around that maybe to have the students bring their own shirt.

I find your opinion interesting, it was the same as my own. However I did try it with an anatomy class, and the results were displayed in the halls of the school. The interaction from other students, and the pride from the students when their shirt was discussed made the exercise worthwile. I found that the project not only helped the students in that way, but it also helped them to put the parts of the body into perspective and helped them to remember at the end of the semester.

Brian, it wouldn't be an interesting world unless we all had different opinions. Please use what appeals to you in this class and the ideas will have value to you and your students.
