Sorry, but I have to mention this despite the negative tone. I will not sing, hum or dance the Macarena. If you knew what they were actually saying in Spanish, you would realize how sexually degrading the lyrics are toward women. Dance crazes are fine & all, but just not that one. Had to vent a bit...sorry. Thanks.
I have to agree that this is degrading and an inappropriate activity. However, using music and dancing are great learning activities for visual and aural learners.
I did not know the what the words meant. Perhaps There is a way to eliminate the words and just use the music. Music can not be degrading to any gender.
