Introduce a Game
I have the best experience playing a Game in class and that helps the students to be more active.
Brenda, I'm sure the students like the incentive of potential bonus points better than anything else they could receive.

When I teach Medial Terminology for the first time, I like to play Wheel of fortune. The students get potential bonus points for correct answers instead of money.
We use the Jeopardy format alot with many of our classes..not just medical terminology. The students like the competition and it does help them remember facts and terms much easier.
Angela , makIng the content more advanced can teach without the anxiety that comes from a lecture on harder topics.

It is a great way to keep the information flowing, and to keep the students energized. I find that it is very helpful to the students if you just keep adding to the games instead of only what is being taught that day or week.
Terry, I am always pleasantly surprised when students "get into" the competition, and they are focused on the content without knowing it.

My students are energized and very focused when we play a game, especially when the game is a competitive one.
From my experiences, games are fun and it helps the information to be reenforced; thereby enhanceing the retention rate of the material.
GERMAN, it is involvement with the content that really teaches the lesson.
