Mary, I'm so glad to hear that you used the matching activity and that the students liked it. That is great!
Michele Deck
I've always used a jeopardy type game. However, I did implement one of your games and the students loved it!! It was the matching game!
Ellis, I believe most people would like to actually be on this show.
Michele Deck
I've had the best response with a Jeopardy! game.
Susan, This is an interesting viewpoint. I have found the social students like activity and the technical like lecture.

Some of my students hate doing any activities such as ball toss, while other students like to do activities, and would love if I did them all class period. I usually find the verbal students like the activity while my non-verbal students like lecture.
Jeanne, it is a good thing to involve the students in making changes in activities, as this will make it better and more relevant to all now and in the future.

Most of my students like activities to help them learn material. They find it fun and energizing and retain the information better. I do have some students that resist activities and make comments that they are a waste of time or seem dumb. I listen to them and then encourage them to at least give it a try and also I let them know I value their feedback and understand that everyone has their preferences. I encourage my students to make adaptions and suggestions to help improve the exercise.
Tracy, This is a great line to quote to students and faculty alike.

Focus is a pertinent component of intellectual adaptability.

Linda, keeping the students focused is always a challenge. I'm glad you like the activities, too.
Michele Deck

Linda,I'm so glad you are able to apply these activities to your class. I know they will bring you and your students success.

My student’s response very well to the activities I use in my classroom. "Wheel of fortune" and "Name that Termâ€. My students are so involved that they come to school every day for the activities (learning). I love the different activities that were presented in my study, Flip Chart, Ball Toss, Baseball, football and Secret Identity). I will be applying these activities in my classroom.
Activities guarantee that attention has been paid to the assignment and you also can observe student level of understanding by seeing whether or not they do what has been instructed.
Bobbi, I agree, the student's respond positively to these methods.

Marie, this is proof that learning has occurred, which is the ultimate assessment technique in education.

I have always gotten a possiitive responce from my students in the past with activities. I always get the question; Can we play a game for review on the test this week insetead of the study guide? They seem to do much better when you make things fun and interesting for them.
Student enjoyed the class and were able to rtain the information for longer period of time.
the student retain the information and were able to remember the information after a few days.
