Walt,

I love continuing to learn. The more I learn the more I can take to my students and more effectively serve them as well. Thanks!

These Professional Development courses help me to focus on what it important. They also give me new ideas on how to better manage my time and utilize resources. Knowing I can do more with the time I have motivates me to learn and practice these WMS.

Todd,

Oh that balance between faculty and administration if very tricky. It's hard to find that balance, but so necessary. Thanks!

Professional Development courses can help faculty members be more efficient in many areas of everyday interactions with students and with administrative duties also.

Victor,

We can always learn new techniques for time management. I just read a book called "Eat That Frog" and the "frogs" are your tasks you need to get done. It has a lot of good tips. Thanks!

Learning new techniques for time management allows me to handle my workload and if I can change the way I deliver my courses and make for a better classroom, then it's worth it. I've learned a lot in this class and one of the things I need to do is do a class revision based on student feedback. They had wanted better powerpoints, so I'm going to work on that...

Cameron,

I agree. The more we learn the more it will benefit us, and hopefully our students, in the future.

Professional development courses help us to become better at what we do and as we become better we become more efficient and efficiency will generally translate a lighter workload and ultimately, saved time.

Sherrilyn,

I love to learn. I take as many professional development courses as possible. Thanks for adding to the conversation in these forums.

Professional development courses allows instructors or anyone for that matter to continuously be exposed to new ideas. Hopefully the new ideas presented will allow individuals to reduce their overall workload and therefore enhancing their day to day lives.

Sherrilyn

Krystal,

You are so right. We need to be refreshed and to keep our skills up to date. I just finished a professional development course myself. We are lifelong learners.

Professional development allows the instructor to refresh and evaluate their methods and discover new, ever-changing methods for student involvement in the online platform. Perhaps you are not receiving the discussion replies you would like. Professional development will allow you to evaluate where the problem could be and how to change your skills to meet the needs of the students.

Emily ,

Love that word "edge." I love professional development and am glad you see the importance as well. Thanks.

Professional development courses give me an edge! I have been an instructor for 10 years now and we all know how education has changed in the last decade. Instructors need to be aware of the changes and always incorporate new strategies that PD opportunities offer.

Natasha,

Anything we can do to help with workload management is a plus. Professional development helps us all stay current and become better at what we do. Thanks!

Participating in professional development courses will help in my workload management by improving how I communicate and organize the online classroom. It is important to continue to work on my professional development so that I can stay up to date with what goes into teaching and teaching online.

William,

I love taking courses. I'm taking one myself this month. ;-) We have to keep learning. It's a continual process.

Nice job.

PD courses can inmprove my workload by learning ways to do things better and more efficiently. Hopefully, this course will do that. Other PD course I've taken have done so. I attend 1-2 PD webinars per month to increase my knowledge in teaching methods and allot on my subject matter. PD on my subject matter allows me to better manage my subject matter as I stay current, and can update my students as well on new developments. PD also connects me to others in my field to network with after the event. I also do research and make presentations at national, state, and international conferences where I also learn from others doing the same thing.

Christina,

We all need professional development to help us stay on that continual learning cycle. We learn from each other and through the course work itself. I am glad you enjoyed Module 4 and keep your live long learning process going. Thanks!

Professional development courses help improve my knowledge and skills for managing my daily workload in the most effective way possible. All of us instructors juggle a number a responsibilities every day for both work and in our personal lives. With professional development courses that teach me how to effectively manage my workload, I am able to learn more effective practices to apply to these daily challenges. These courses teach me helpful strategies that I can immediately apply to my everyday workload. I really enjoyed Module 4 and learning about formative course revisions. I am always brainstorming new ways to gather feedback from my students to enhance their learning experience. Having learned effective course evaluation tools to incorporate in my classroom will definitely provide me with useful information to make necessary changes throughout the duration of my courses. This way my students are receiving the best possible learning experience from me as their instructor and get an education that can be relevantly applied.
