I learned it is extremely important to first, understand the material and second, how to deliver it effectively and efficiently online. Having structure, communication and different instructional strategies will aid in the comprehension of online coarse delivery.
It is essential for me to be "present" in order for my students to have a reasonable level of comfort in navigating this "new normal" we are finding ourselves in, due to COVID-19.
I think it is a good informational tool and learning how to teach the different types of communication. It’s all in how the information is given and understood. We want to provide the best for our students and present ourselves and the school in the best light. I make sure I have all my items I need including my roster to call on students during the Skype, I go over items from last week and make sure they have an understanding of the subject matter.
When teaching an online class, the educators should be inserviced on your chosed CMS to ensure efficiency.
In order to teach a course online, all instructors should be inserviced and trained on your chosen CMS to ensure efficiency.
Learning to naviagate CMS as an instructor can support the students' learning and ensure their success. The essential component of an online course is providing students with opportunities for interaction and meaningful activites.
Our DMS program requires students to graduate with set of competencies necessary for the workforce and it is our responsibility as instructors to help students gain these competencies. Evaluating the current infrastructure currently in place will allow us to pay particular attention to student groups that may require different resources than the general population. Changes in infrastructure can be independent study, research, more teacher and student interaction or extended learning tasks. Time in the classroom can be organized to revise and develop a culture that will embrace deeper learning. This will include new roles for teachers by combining technology based tasks to support the aid in deeper learning in e-learning programs.
The key to online learning seems to be preparedness--planning each compenent carefully in advance and making sure you are familiar with the CMS.
Instructors need to be proficient in the management system in order to better serve student needs. Having a active presence is key to fostering student success.
Mental activity correlates with learning.Keep structure but undestand learners are different.
Course delivery in E - Learning stands upon the CDP (Course Delivery Platform) and therafter CDT (Course Delivery Techniques). This combination is simultanously supported by Learning support combined with technical support to ensure the overall coherent course delivery.
Such infrastructure allows for further synchronizing the structural integrity of the course, Intelectual interaction supported by technical supports in all E lerning platforms for Course delivery as a whole
The interaction of the technical support in training the students and the instructors sure is a two dimensional undertaking but its simultanous performance and outcome will affect course delivery at all levels of instruction.
To be successful in facilitating in an online teaching and learning environment the course delivery system must have a level of clarity, organization and a systematic approach concerning the information that is to be delivered by facilitators to students and the information that needs to come from students to the class environment. Course Delivery Systems (CMS) are a valuable tool that assist to make this happen. It seems to be very important for facilitators/instructors to gain early access to become familiar with these systems and their capabilities in order to properly organize the information so that it can be efficiently and effectively distributed to students.
I found this helpful and supportive to all our instructors.
What's been most helpful at this time is the review of how to organize the course, particularly the coure modules. I tend toward creativity but when converting a face-to face course to an online format, simplicity and consistency are more important.
The learning enviorment requires the instructor to understand the online tools being used. Adequate training and support are key to success.
As faculty we need to fully understnad the learning management system as well as student expectations so we can be a resrouce to our students. Lack of knowledge and use will result in learner frustration.
This learning environment requires the instructor to understand the online tool being used. Adequate training and support are key elements for success.
Review layout of CMS and learn how to access features. If you learn how to function within the CMS, then your content knowledge and student support can be maximized.
Looks as if online courses are a good way to keep students on track. However, technical ability is not always the same with the students. This needs to be a priority.
There are many facets to on-line learning that we are in the routine of doing in class, but I will need to make a deliberate effort to apply in a different manner so my students feel supported.
