Teachers wear many hats or shoes while teaching online. I had never considered all of the roles until studying this material. I also realized agaain the significance of feedback and reflections. Students need timely feedback and teachers need to reflect on that information to make changes where necessary. Good communication is vital to successful online learning. Student motivation and engagement are also important to a successful outcome.
I learned the 3 basic approaches when it comes to on-line teaching, and the most important thing when doing on-line classes is making sure that you understand how to facilitate corretly and that you make everything plain site so the students can undersatnd.
It is important to review the course not only by student assignments and grades but also by content and how successful was the facilitation of student learning and what the institution can do to make improvements in both teaching and learning.
Teachers should create an engaging community that motivate students and encourage participation.

It will be important for me to establish clear guidelines for my expectations in communications. I will need to be specific in how I want to students to submit their questions, comments and answers. Having a FAQ section may be helpful for all.

Student engagement and motivation are critical to instruction. Students must receive feedback. As the facilitator, we must assist in guiding them in the learning process.
IIt's good to know even with e-learners there must be room for venting and appropriate choices. Not saying not to make poor choices but to realize as the facilitator I must guide and demonstrate their choices even closer and make sure students understand how their choices have an effect on others.

Communication is critical, both in terms of setting up general expectations and in terms of giving feedback. This requires the instructor to have a clear plan and clear expectations set up ahead of time.
Get regular feedback from students, and have in place a system that periodically assesses the effectiveness of my teaching.
