The Resource Notebook

Part A:

In my resource book, I have included the florida statues and the florida administrative code as it relates to the CIE, Agents, and Post Secondary Institutions at the suggestion of this course. I have also included the following information relevant to our institution:

1. staff, faculty, and administrative staff contact info and schedules
2. upcoming start and graduation dates of our programs
3. contact information for the massage licensing board
4. florida statues as they relate to the massage therapy licensure and practice
5. institution tuition and financial aid information
6. state regulation guide for massage therapy licensure
7. financial aid policies and procedures as they relate to both the federal government and our institution
8. institution policy and procedures
9. institution standard operating procedures
10. enrollment agreement
11. massage certification examination testing policies
12. massage therapy board meeting minutes.
13. standard operating procedures for working with the VA
14. standard operating procedures for working with americorps
15. copies of ads and marketing materials
16. current catalog
17. current catalog addenda

Part B:

I was not aware of the selection criteria and licensing requirements for the Agents. I am concerned that either the admissions representative position does not meet the criteria for Agent, or we are not following proper procedure. I am hopeful (and fairly certain) it is the former and that this course was suggested to me as an opportunity to improve my general skills and knowledge base. (smile)

Scott,
Make sure you add the Florida Administrative Code, Rule 6-E. The rules are a very important part of your notebook.

Patty Aronoff

1. Florida 2009 Florida Statutes- Chapter 1005
2. The Commission For Independent Education Packet.
3. Copy of my institutions Course Catalog/ Policies and Procedures.
4. Copy of individual Program Enrollment Agreements.
5. Placement Policy
6. Copies of Marketing Materials
7. Organization Chart
8. Leads Policy
9. Interview Slides
Still piecing it together

Troy,

Agreed! The notebook can only be useful if you keep it close. Secondly, it must be kept current by adding any updated material.

Patty Aronoff

I agree you should always have your resource book handy to help you tap into unknown information

Jennifer,
Adding calendars is a way to be knowledgeable about the student experience.

Jennifer,
The regulations guide you every step of the way.

I like the idea of having a section regarding the start and graduation dates of each program at the Institution. I am going to add a section for that to my resource notebook and continually update it. Thanks!

I am just starting to create my resource notebook and find these responses very helpful. I am going to carefully outline and review the institution's catalog and enrollment agreement.
The list compiled above is very helpful when comtemplating the different tabs that my notebook should have.

Seeing as I am just beginning in the Admissions Representative role, it is very important for me to learn about the statutes and rules of things that I can and cannot say.

Thank you for this informative response.

Charles,
Thank you for your feedback.

Hello,

This was a very good lesson, and I have a Resource Note Book that includes my enrollment agreement, marketing materials, organzational charts and Florida Statue and Rules.

Thanks

Johan,
It is important to revisit. If we don't tap into the resource, it is just another book on the shelf.

I have put much of the information I read through this training in my notebook, this has actually refreshed my knowledge regarding our regulatory guidelines and assisted me in assisting my team as well..

Ada,
Manypeople keep it both ways as each way has its own benefits.

I have also found usefull the fact that in the Resource Notebook you have a hard copy of preetty much everything and in case of something going wrong with your system then you just go on and do the paperwork manually and still enroll that eager prospect.

I really agree with you Patty, having everything where its supposed to be and of coarse up to date is one of the most importatnt thing for admissions.

Stephanie,
Great news! Thank you for your post.

I spend time familirazing myself with the information i needed to know. I looked through the resource notebook and i found myself reading all these listing; was very helpful.

Kimberly,
You are off to a great start! Continue to add additional material that will assist you.

Patty, I have placed a copy of the university's catalog, tuition and registration policies as well as the definitions, CIE rule 6E in the Resource notebook. I have also taken a suggestion from one of the other learners here to include a faculty directory in addition to the recommended org chart.
