Help the Student

Be as effective as possible. Our prospective students are in need of guidance. It is our responsibility to provide the information necessary for the best career path. Know your market.

I agree. Many student will have may obstacles that they have to face while on this journey and we have to be able to provide resources for them so they can stay focused on reaching their career goals.

I agree. A student has to know that their success is our priority throughout their college career. They have to know that they can reach out to us no matter what stage of their education they are in.

Jenny ,
This is the purpose of the catalog. The student must sign and attest they had received and read a copy of the catalog.

Patty Aronoff

It is very important for students to be aware and understand the school's rules and regulations

Marlana,
They should never feel they are on the journey alone. There are many times where those support systems have been just the right avenue to keep the students in school.

I agree! Also i feel like it is so important not only to have the support system in place but that they are available for the students during their whole journey here at UTI/MMI!!

Amilcar,

Having a support system in place to assist student is often the pivot point where students stay in school or drop. Many utilize this very important part of school.

That is very true. We all went through the college experience and we know that is was really good to see a friendly face when thing got a little dificult. Based on our experience we have the knowledge to help the student move forward and acomplish their goal.

Brian,
Students do their own research and come in with their own backgrounds. They will test your knowledge of the school and career choice.

Being effective is not just a few words to say but a very important piece of the puzzle when dealing with a student. Knowing your market will display your competency. Students come to us for help and being effective while at the same time knowing your business and your market will be a for sure way to be on the road to success.

Jackie,
It is about the student and what is the right fit for them. It takes active listening and good communication to reach the best program.

Laurie,
Admission reps are the first contact with the students. Students like to see them throughout their experience.

Shayna,
You are very down to earth and bring a wonderful perspective.

I can understand your frustration with a prospective student who wants to be ‘spoon fed’ and I agree that they need to do research on their own; however, choosing a school can be a daunting task, especially to a young person who may not as of yet had to make such an important decision that will affect their long term plans. Hopefully, if they are young, they have a wise parent to guide them. Or, if they are a bit older, a kind spouse. Regardless, I don’t at all mind helping them do research even if, in the end, my institution is not the one they chose as the best fit.
And in this day and age with all of the internet information and mis-information, it could just be they’re looking for a friendly perspective on where to begin looking. Personally, I simply enjoy that they are not afraid to ask me the questions!

We also need to be available to the student throughout the length of the course and offer resources and guidance as needed. It is important that the student feel like the pathways to communication with the staff are open at all times

I agree as well, but I am finding that with many of the younger students that they don't want to do the research themselves, they want someone to just tell them. It is their responsibility as well to do as much research as they can on a particular career field. Sometimes I feel as we have to "spoon feed" them. I'm not trying to be negative, but I have been in my position for over 15 years and it seems as though the prospective student has to do less and less...

The only way to provide the best education and proper fit for any student is to always listen to them especially during the interview.

Most of the time the student is not sure what program is right for them. That's where our expertise comes in.

I will never recommend a program until they explain why they want to enroll in Beauty School.

Rosa,
It is misleading to the student and an area of noncompliance.

David,
That is certainly commendable.
