Admissions Goal

The goals are for you to know everything currently possible about the Florida Statutes and Rules that affect all admissions staff, and for you to know as much as possible about your institution and your job as you perform your key role - to enroll qualified students who will benefit from your programs. Training specific to your institution is additional training offered by your supervisors.

I completely agree! As Admissions Representative, we have to make it our goal to provide the most efficient, relevant information to our prospective students. Our knowledge of the available resources and programs at our institutions can have a lasting affect on a prospects decision to enroll in school. We have to hold ourselves accountable, if we are anticipating for our students to maintain a high level of academic success.

Francisco,
They are the best resources to start with. Keeping informed is so much easier with their guidance.

I absolutely agree with the fact that we have to keep up to date with the rules and regulations. One have to be really commited because the rules change often. The Commission for Independent Education does a good job informing everybody about changes, and FAPSC does too

That is true Madelyne, but presentation isn't everything in my opinion. I might not be the best looking guy in town, but my students appreciate my honesty and candidness. Not overselling is very important to realize expectations.

Theresa,
Great advice!

Johanna,
We are changing lives every day and it must be ethically and honestly.

Madelyne,
You are absolutely right, communication is key.

Paris,
It is about commitment and understanding. These are two very important elements for success.

Knowledge is power. Th emore we know, the better we can help our students make educated and strong decisions about changing their lives. The better they feel about the decision they have made, the more likelihood that we will have students that will graduate.

There is nothing more important than string interviewing skills for an admissins representative and to effectively do that you must be educated in all areas, aspects and facts of your organization.

Assessing ones understanding of rules and regulations in education is very important, and life long learning is part of enrollment day to day life. I strongly agree that ethics, and high levels of integrity are key factors to properly assist, and guide students in the right direction. All this in conjunction with matching students needs, will help us change each student's life by positively impacting their personal learning objectives, career growth, and family life.

Knowing the rules and regulations of our industry is a must but keeping up to date with the changes is equally inmportant. Today we are faced with changing regulations and it is imperative that we al operate with a high standard of ethics and integrity. Do the right thing by the student and if you don't know the answer to something then ask!

I agree, it is important to knwo as much as possible abuot the Florida Statutes as it relates to higher education. I personal want to ensure that I am acting in the best interest of the student and I am knowledgable about my school's information.

Estela,
Matching the regs to the institution is a partnership in compliance.

Ernesto,
It takes strong interviewing skills to make the determination of this is a good fit. Students need to be honest of their commitment and the life challenges they are facing.

Janet,
That is why we are in the business we are in!

Not that only, but that the Institution is providing students with the occupational skills necessary to qualify them for entry level employment in their chosen field.

Added to this is also to properly interview students and make sure that not only are they a good fit for your institution but that your institution can also offer the student the right educational experience.
