As pass instructor
I feel that with my seasoned background in the dental field as a dental assistant and as a dental instructor at a technical college that I will bring much to the student that will be part of our school.
Jack,
I would agree. Having the practical experience brings a richness to the classroom. Students connect better with someone that has "been, done that" in the field of their dreams. It's the best of both worlds.

One of the strengths that any instructor with work experience has is that they can relate with the course work being taught; they can directly show students how this material will help them when they go out in a career in real life. This is why when hiring an instructor I feel that this is an important factor that needs to be looked at.
Kay,
I totally agree! The sharing of experiences and knowledge gained keeps the learning going.

Sharing knowledge is important to gaining an understanding of the processes involved in admissions.
Patricia,
Students are very knowing people. Having taught for many years myself, the students kept me on my toes! The best part, we BOTH learned. A good instructor will learn each student and keep it learner centered.

I have learned much from the students as well as from each class. I have learned as everyone that has taught that you never stop learning to become a better teacher. I have also learned that when you do not prepare for each and every class even if you know and are familar with the material. You will run into problems and the students can tell if you are prepared or not. In order to lessen the stress in a class room, as an instructor always prepare for each class. Some classes will need more attention in different area.
Patricia,
Students can benefit greatly from those who have personal experience in the field. You have a wealth of information that you can share.
