There are various ways. Just a few of them are listed as follows. First of all it is very important to check CIE website to keep updated with any changes in Statutes or Rules. Secondly, to be in compliance with all the Standards required and update the catalog, students handbook and all the school publications. Report to the State any changes in curriculum, facilities and accreditation on time. Train the staff regularly regarding admissions, enrollements, and fair consumer practice.

I am learning online, through this course, and from our weekly campus training. We conduct training on a weekly basis, as well as urgent training when new policies and updates are implemented to ensure all personel stay updated.

The CIE staff is there to help and you have a great resource to assist you. Having someone to explain details to you and having the opportunity to ask questions. Your program specialist is a great place to start.
All the points made by the other repliers in this forum are great, but I find my best resources are the CIE staff. Talman, Mary Cook have been fabulous at answering questions I do not understand. Sometimes the rules and statutes are confusing or unclear, but because the CIE staff work with them on a daily basis, they can readily answer questions. I think reading the rules along with a combination of consulting the CIE staff is my best option.

Also, check the websites for CIE, FAPSC, and your accrediting body. They often post updates and current events that affect our sector.
I print the regulations and keep them in a binder. Then, I periodically read through them and highlight any areas that I want to refer back to, or any areas where I want to check to make sure we meet the requirements.

I am gathering info from this course, am visiting the regulatory agency websites, and just yesterday, my school staff attended a FAPSC conference with several seminars, including one given by two CIE commissioners who gave us copies of all the new statutes and discussed the changes relevant to admissions compliance.
I am learning about the Statutes and Rules through this course. Prior to taking this, I had readily available our catalog, EA and checklists, as well as my supervisor who would advise me of what the requirements were. I've now created the resource book as described thoughout the course so I can have the Statutes, Rules and Regulations at my fingertips. I've created a recurring Outlook task to check the CIE website and I have saved electronic copies of the Statutes, Rules and Regulations. I know that the learning will be an ongoing process as the Statutes, Rules and Regulations can change at any time!

The way that has been most helpful thus far has been this course when it comes to learning the various Florida Statutes and Rules and Regulations. I have also been spending time looking at the websites for the Department of Education and the Commission for Independent Education.
