Graduation ceremonies

After reading through this module I was shocked to find out some institutions do not have or are required to have a graduation ceremony. To me, it is a huge accomplishment for any student to graduate and the school should be celebrating a students success!

Kendal,
Graduation occurs every day. Yet graduation ceremonies don't always happen. Not all schools have a graduation ceremony and it's unfortunate that celebration is not extended.

All institutions should have graduation ceremonies! I think that by having a ceremony, you are celebrating the accomplishment of earning a degree/certificate! I was also shocked to learn that not all institutions do not have or require graduation ceremonies.

Carmen D.,

Graduation is a celebration of achievement and hard work. A great time!

Roberto,
It is great to meet their support system on both sides, the one at home and the one at school. Definitely a time to celebrate.

Yenniz,
Yes, they are a voluntary ceremony. I do hope that schools make the effort to recognize their graduates.

I agree. The graduation is the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. It means a lot to the students although there are always a few who choose not to attend. I always attend to support the students that I've enrolled.

I was surprised to learn that schools don't have to have graduation ceremonies. After all the hard work on the part of the staff and the students the sucess should be celebrated.

Laura,

Graduation is so exciting. It is the celebration of their success with their families, their friends and the school.

I agree! it is a huge accomplishment to finish any type of education. I have just implemented a Graduation ceremony at our Academy and the students are so excited!!!!!

Working for the school I have been with for the past 5 years I have attended a lot of graduation ceremonies. I agree it is a huge part of a student's education experience. It allows them to reflect on all the work they have done, celebrate with their fellow students and feel their education goal is complete.

I agree with you, I just recently encouraged a student to walk today, she didnt want to do it because she was only getting a Diploma. But i told her its a step she made to success and she should walk.

Yes, I agree. I look forward to celebrating the students accomplishments. It is also an accomplishment for the institution that their students are completing their courses and understanding the programs. Its a celebration for EVERYBODY!

sharon,

The graduation ceremony is the culmination of all the hard work. It is the crowning achievement. I did not march in undergraduate due to an injury and it felt so incomplete, but when I completed graduate school, I marched and it was an awesome feeling to look out and see my family in the audience beaming with pride and cheering me on, it made all the sacrifice worth while. It is something that all graduates should experience.

eileen,

Many people would agree with you. The ceremony is is something that we all should look for, strive for,and celebrate.

Patty Aronoff
