Sometimes students feel they were not given accurate information. By relying on the regulatory requirements laid out in the CIE, we can backtrack to ensure our admissions staff followed proper procedure and utilized all the tools available. We use a two step process that allows a supervisor of admissions personnel to follow up with the student prior to signing an enrollment agreement to ensure all of their needs have been met and we have met our obligations.

The regulatory requirements serve as constant reminder that there are rules to be followed not only to keep on our institution moving in a positive direction but more importantly to ensure our students needs are met and they are matched with the best possible fit to meet their goals and objectives. They give us structure and guidelines and framework to be successful.

The university reports to the Florida commission every July. As an admissions represenatative, it is my responsibility to understand the rules and regulations as it relates to recruitment, advertising and other issues that relates to the admission and retention of students. These rules guide what we can and cannot do as admission representatives.
CIE helps keep you up to date on new information and can help you understand policies and/or procedures that have been implemented. Also, the requirements would allow reps/agents the ability to provide prospective students with possible job opportunities,without providing any garauntee of employment.
The CIE provides standards/quality control to ensure the job is performed within regulations. The CIE is also a safety net for consumers.
It is important to keep informed about CIE requirements and to be aware about any change in the rules to provide the prospective students with the more up-dated information.
As a new school application, the CIE requirements are the final word on how we build our processes. The check list idea will be the way to go. This way my Resource Book will stand on its own as an audit trail of compliancy.
