How does your school stay current?
I'm surious as to what your school is doing to keep you up on what is happening with trends, the industry and marketing? Do you hold weekly/monthly meetings?
Jean-Ronel,
You have a good practice in place. I would recommend starting with their newsletter.
We stay current by having meetings, community events and email updates. The most important thing that we do is monthly visits of the CIE website.
Scarlett,
Thank you for your post. The student presentations are excellent!
We hold weekly meetings between Admissions and Financial Aid. Also, Financial Aid gets a daily newsletter with updated information on Department of Education regulations, etc. We are required an hour training weekly to make sure that we are following guidelines.
It is an ongoing process and we will never know it all, there is always something new and something to learn.
We have frequent faculty meetings and weekly meetings with Clinical Faculty Staff. Additionally, our students give current clinical evidence based practice presentations which many of the faculty staff members sit in on. We have leadership meetings with all departmental heads present to discuss trends, issues, observations.
We have meetings on a weekly basis with admissions staff.
Scott,
Those two entities can provide you a wealth of information. Use them often!
Shernice,
It remains an ongoing process from many resources.
We get feedback from Advisory Committees that are volunteers from the business community. Also, our career services department keeps us informed as well.
CJ, for me at my institution we actually hold weekly meetings. These meetings are designed to go over school information, trends, but are also held to go over any changes that have occurred and the process in place for those changes.
We stay current by having monthly meetings, community events, and open houses.
We have weekly meetings with Our Executive Director. Information is consistently being emailed. And we also hold monthly meetings and program meetings in which our program coordinators and director report any changes or updates back to the group. This is very efficient since our Program coordinators sit on some of the leadership committees that discuss school policies new bills effecting education and how the school district plans on meeting these needs. We are also informed of drastic decisions or bills that may effect our recruitment and our being able to enroll students into pur graduate programs.
Tania,
Meetings keep everyone on the same page and we need to continually update our knowledge.
Mark,
Sounds great! Plenty of opportunities to learn.
Middalia,
The communication links are important to keeping everyone up-to-date.
We hold monthly meetings in which faculty staff and program coordinators are present. This is where most of the information is shared. In addition to that we have weekly meetings with our Executive director to help keeps us update with trends, universities challenges, etc and the university also communicates regularly with all faculty and staff on alerts and other news via email.
We have daily meetings that usually last 15 to 20 minutes to go over any urgent topics. We also have monthly meetings to go over any changes or updates in admissions and financial aid.
We have monthly meetings. Like that you’re up to date.
We have meetings every morning to inform of any changes
