Orientation is awesome!! We have the opportunity to meet and greet new students! Introduce our departments and the people who assist our future professionals through the entire course! We appreciate our future professionals for making the first strive to achieving their goals!
Marcia,
I think we all agree that orientation puts the students first.
Thanks Patty!
We strive to make them feel at home and confortable knowing that we are here to help them achive their career goal.
Orientation is very important to the student and the institution. the student learn about what is offered to them, expectations and the istitution get a peek at their new admissions. This is a time for them to relax and fell confortable with the facility and the staff. Makes room for a great learning experience.
Heather,
Orientation is a good transition point from Admissions to Education.
Peter,
Orientation gets them off to a great start!
Stephanie,
Orientation is learning about the people and the environment...a very important first step.
Maria,
Absolutely! They need this informationto be successful.
Elisa,
You are giving them a great start! They need to know that the first day will be smooth and exciting.
Lyell,
It is starting them off on the right foot. Getting to know the school and having the best first day.
David,
The idea is to set the foundation for a great experience and remove the fears.
Audrey,
Students should be respectful of their campus and the rules of being a part of it. How students act on campus is certainly a first impression to visitors.
that's awesome! It's one of the problems I face when hosting events at our campus when students are smoking outside and that smoke carries right into the building, making it the 1st impression for 1st time visitors and it's embarrassing. I think the student orientation is fun for our students, our Dean or Director does a great job getting them excited about their opportunities and encourages them to talk to us, our Dean and our Program Chairs to help them with whatever issues they are facing. We walk them through the entire process. I remember being a freshman and feeling clueless, so it's nice that they have helping hands.
i agree that orientation is a very important step to changing students lives. Its their first look into their future and it really gets them focused.
Orientation day is "The Day" for the students. During the enrollment process they have been dealing with the admissions officer and also with the Financial Aid officer. During Orientation they get the chance to meet the whole faculty and staff. They also meet with other new studenst, so they dont feel they are alone in this process. Every department manager has a time to explain in detail the funtion of that specific department and how it will affect or help the student in the future. During orientation we make them feel, at home and make sure that they understand that we, as a team can make their dreams come true.
Nikeline,
Orientation is so important. It brings the education side to the student and the little things that make the first days exciing.
I FEEL IS THE MOST IMPORTANT TOOL IN THE ADMISSIONS DEPARTMENT ,BECAUSE THIS IS HOW THE STUDENT WILL SEE THE SCHOOL AND THE REPRESENTATIVES IN IT. THEY MAY EVEN MEASURE THERE SUCCESS LEVEL JUST BY ORIENTATION, AND THE WAY IT IS CONDUCTED.
In addition, we get to set the tone. The students get to see the positive attitude of both instructors and administrative personnel. The idea is to offer an exciting culture of learning at the school to encourage excitement and a determination to finish and realize their goals.
I agree, orientation is important. It's the first real exposure to the faculty and the facilities. They also learn about many of the procedures and rules to follow while attending.
