Accreditation Standards and Procedures
This module was very helpful and informative in regards to the accreditation standards and what my role and responsibilities are as an Admissions Representative. I learned that an Admissions Representative must continously train as per accreditation regulation and that it is voluntary for institutions to obtain accrediatation standards. Being accredited allows for Title 4 Funding to be available.
Claudia,
Being compliant with both licensure and accreditation is a daily activity. The school should be prepared daily.
Being accredited is important, but maintaining that accreditation is essential. It means, the everyday operations must be up and running according to standards because a random visit can occur at any time.
I agree. Accreditation standards are very helpful to know the rules by which admissions representatives must go by. I was also a bit surprised to learn that accreditaion is up to the institutuion. however, i think all institutions should be required to be accredited because in that way those would make sure their reps do a good job and have a better work ethic.
Candace,
Accreditation standards are determined by the accrediting body, not the state.
Joanne,
Thank you for your feedback.
Accreditation Standards and Policies ensures that each institute abids by the regulations set forth by the state the school / college is operating in. Since each state has different laws it is very helpful to stay on top of them all.
