Ana,
Excellent! The tour is a very important part of the admissions process. Much can be learned about the prospective student through questions asked on the tour.

Legna,
They will know it in their heart. People can sense if you have good intentions.

Laura ,
Retention starts with a healthy enrollment. By doing our job in admissions, we strive for the right fit of student and program. Plus we have provided the information they need to be successful.

Complete transparency is required. If we do not, then we are possible misleading the student which is against state regulations.

I agree inaccurate information does not guarantee enrollment. But it does guarantee some sort of problem at some point and it can result in bad feedback about the school. The person misrepresenting the University will create more issues for the student and the University itself. All students and or potential students should be allowed to make an informed decision up front.
I agree with this statement 100%. My goal is to build relationships with my prospective students. I am usually their first point of contact. The prospect needs to feel comfortable & confident in my information. In order to do that, information has to be consistent. I love that former students remember me & come back to me for correct information as opposed to listening to hear say & they refer their friends/family/co-workers to me. Even if our institution is not a good fit for them now, it may be later on down the road. Or they will at least remember my honesty & refer someone else to me who may benefit greatly from one of our programs.
The the prospect student is given all of the information by the admissions representation on their first visit to the University. A tour is given of the campus the admissions represwntative then interviews student personally and answers all questions and guides them toward the career that is bested for them
i completely agree. If you are honest and have good intentions the propective student will apreciated it and respect you. Also once they become students they will send you all their friends.
It is important to have quality conversations with prospective students. It is important to inform prospects with the right information. Being truthful and not misleading will only help to create healthy retention rates.
