Knowing your school

While in my position, it is very important to understand our offerings. While in the training period, I learned the requirements of each program and the information necessary to gain knowledge of the programs. We offer a career development department with their responsibilities outlined and considered. Included are resume development, interview coaching and help with the websights needed to find the employment opportunities.

I think it's essential for reps and departments to have a good relationship. Things run a lot smoother that way.

I truly believe that in order to be successful and have a well informed student you must clearly understand the roles of each department. How can you sell a product unless you know that product inside out. Take the time to get you to know your departments, and make sure they have involvement somewhat in the admissions process.

You are right because if you do not know your school or product knowledge about your school how can you expect potential students to want to enroll.

I mentioned this in an earlier post but I feel it is more appropriate to mention here. Obviously, you should know everything about your institution, but it is also very important to at least know the basics of other similar institutions in your area. Doing this will ensure that you know the benefits of your institution over the others.

I couldnt agree with you more. Knowing as much as possible about your school gives you that confidence you will portray to a student which in turn can re assure a student that you know what your talking about and that your not steering them in a direction they didnt plan on going.

It is important to know your school so you can speak accurately and confidently about what the school has to offer the potential students.

Knowing everything about your institution is very important. Not only so that you can properly convey the information regarding the programs. But also because having a basic understanding of the rest of the workings of the school is often just as important to students as the content of their program of interest. A full picture of the school is absolutely key.

Knowing your school is important because it allows the Rep to discuss information that would be applicable to the potential student. Further, knowing your school will enable the recruiter or school rep to distinguish between differing programs, giving the student the best information to make a more informed and life changing decision.

Knowing your school is a huge key to success.
