I feel that it is very important that individuals in the position of Assitatn Director of Admisssions continue to learn as the industry has changes. I would like to know all that is available to allow myself the opportunity to increase my skill sets and prepare myself for continued success.
developing personal developed leads for enrollments
I would love to be more involved with High School recruitment. I think that high schoolers have a certain energy about them and desire to know. Plus you get to take what you normally do in the office and take it outside of the office where you get more one on one interaction with prospective students.
Faith,
I love that the school has you meet with each specific department and tests you on the information. This is a great learning tool.

Product knowledge training is always helpful for me.
Would love the opportunity to work in the field with other reps......
Going out on a "ride along" with the field reps and seeing how they handle day to day outside of the office. That would be interesting to me.
I believe that as an Admissions representative it is vital to the success of our students, that we our informed and updated on how other departments provide assistance to our students.
I agree. We have sat in on a few classes and it really helps to understand what the class is all about. I think that this could be an ongoing thing. The more information that we have about the programs, the better we will be to inform students.
Amy,
This is a great suggestion. Many schools that have multiple agents do this internally but I know if would be helpful for schools that only employ a few agents.

I think a great training opportunity would be to offer student question and rep answer scenarios. Giving reps an idea of compliant and ideal answers for common student questions would be a great help!
I would like to see formal classes for admissions representatives. Being able to talk with other reps about how different schools handle things just gives each of us better insight on ways we can improve our own jobs.
Possibly more information regarding finacial assistance. One major concern with students is how they are going to fund their education, and although we do not handle such topics, it may be helpful to know more about the process and what things they will need in order to apply.
I love sitting in on classes. It allows me to see and hear what the current students are experiencing while gathering information to better prepare the potential students I will be talking with.
Keeping up to date as rules and regulations change within the industry. Compliance is key, and I want to make sure that all potential students understand their options and requirements for success prior starting school. This will give the school the best opportunity for success, as well as the student.
I find that continued education/training is key to keeping employees fresh and at the top of their game. "The only constant is change." This applies in many different aspects and means training holds a lot of weight. The training focuses are subject to change depending on the scenario, but one must always treat everyday as a learning experience.
Since we are a destination school. Helping over come larger obstacles would be a help. Also hands on, sitting in the class rooms, getting more knowledge would also be helpful.
It seems like everyone is thinking the same when it comes to learning all aspects of the whole admissions department.
I am new to this department so I am always asking questions and learning something new everyday. I would love to work all aspects of the admissions department. In order to be a good Admissions Director ( which I will be one day), you would have to have work in all the areas so that when your staff needs your input on something you, will know the best way to answer the question or help solve the problem.
I could always benefit from training on product knowledge. I feel, the more we know about each program, the better we are able to present that to each prospective student.
I think Effective Communication is always a good idea. It could includes tips and techniques/best practicies utilized when speaking to prospective students, current students and alumni.
I also think training focused on Social Media and the most effective ways and appropriate ways to utilize social media outlets would be very well received.
