
So far one of the most interesting ideas in this job for me is to not have to necessarily MASTER the financial aid aspect of our job. We can know the basics, but it is not our job to communicate the information or tell a student what theey are eligible for. With my previous jobs, It was common to be an expert in all aspects of the company. But here, we know what the other departments do, and how to work with them harmoniously, but it would be wrong of me to try to do their job for them. I like that.
I certainly agree. It is a nice change of pace for me to focus on just my job of admissions and not have to worry about every department as I have in the past.
You are so right on this. Knowing the other departments and services they offer students is a great tool in the enrollment process. By offering their expertise to the students questions you are building credibility for yourself and for the school.
I agree I think everybody should be an expert at their own area but know everyone elses area enough to answer some questions but save the indepth questions for that teacher/administrator
