Transfer of Credits
Each school is required to have a policy regarding the transferability of credits. It is important to locate the transfer policies for your institution, read and print them, and place them in your Resource Notebook. Some schools accept transfer credits from other institutions and some do not.
Its true that some schools accept credits and others don't. Its always up the recieving school whether or not they will accept the credits. The reasons vary based on the school's requirements: grades, accreditation, and similarity of courses are some of the things that the school looks into.
Trasnder of credits cannot be stated unless and institution accepts them. This needs to be verified before verbalized.
It seems that articulation agreements are far and few between anymore. I always remind my students that going on to another school after leaving our school is a possibility however it will take some leg work and research on their part because it is up to the receiving institution as to whether credits are received are not.
This is an area where many students have questions. It is very important to understand our school's current policy as well as other schools who accept transfer credits when our students want to further their education to go on for a Bachelor's degree. I have this information to palce in the resource notebook.

I think this is a practice needing more strict guidelines. If FA said we will not fund you another English 1 class, then the receiving school should be required to look closer at taking the credits. Schools have jacked up the number of credits required to achieve a Bachelors degree to almost double from 35 years ago when I graduated, so giving credit for English or math isn't going to cut into their profit level.
