We have not made any modifications with our admissions because our admissions process is already very extensive. We require multiple appointments that include tours and meeting with all staff. During this process we decide if the student is a good fit for us and if we're a good fit for the student.

We have added more behavioral-based interview questions to our admissions interview. The interview has become a key factor in our process.

We currently offer tutoring for students who are registered. However, offering tutoring for those taking the math assessment (pre registration)is not a bad idea. Im sure it will refresh their memory and help them to score higher and for others it may help them determind which area they want to study.

We have added a second interview however, this is an area we continue to stuggle with. What are some good ideas to improve in this area?

Does anyone have any placment test(not admission test) recommendations? Or success stories?

In working in Admissions Support,we try to ask specific questions to ensure our students have obtained the necessary H.S diploma or GED in order to attend college.

There is an entrance exam to make sure the students have the necessary skills to complete the program. Also, more general education classes have been added to the program so that students will be more likely to succeed once they are in the workforce. This way they will be able to understand what they are doing instead of just how to do it.

We have an admissions test, but we are also using a test after they start to evaluate where they are at in their education related skills. If we have an understanding of where they are in their educational journey, it offers us a better understanding of their needs. That tells us whether they'll need more tutoring etc. So that they can meet their educational goals.....Which are usually associated with their employment goals.

Absolutely! We are trained to ask extensive education background questions to ensure that a student can be potentially successful.

We have placement exams that allow us to know students that need a Prep course in order to thrive in their desired program. We also have the graduation and placement rates as part of our enrollment agreement. These steps as well as a detailed interview allow us to make sure students are qualified for our courses and will benefit from the training.

you want your students to be sucessfull always

Yes and continues to do so as well as other things to improve customer satisfaction

Since instituting another person in addition to admission employee to do interview, I feel they now give the potential student a full picture of what is going to be expected of them to be successful in school and the future workplace.

My institution has not altered admissions requirements. We have allocated resources dedicated to identifying/delivering additional resources/support to students preceding and during their 1st quarter of enrollment.

I am not entirely sure if there have been any modifications made to our requirements. We do have an entrance test that students take and according to the program they are interested in there are requirements/ benchmark scores to meet. I feel like this helps to ensure students are qualified to succeed.

Our school requires all students to complete a tutorial before they can attend their classes. This way they have an insight into what they have signed up for. We also have many different qualifications students must meet before they can be accepted into their program of study. If they do not meet the minimum requirements, their file must be reviewed by the Dean and they must provide additional documentation as well.

Kimberly I agree with you. At our institution we believe that if a student is successful that student in return will speak highly of our institution. So it is a win win situation.

we are not aloud to give guidance or tutoring for the hesi test. is this aloud in other schools?

I agree with you on this John. Ample tutoring opportunities offered at various times should be commonplace to ensure a students success.

No. My institution has not altered admissions requirements, however it has implemented a strong intervention policy through the student services department
