No special requirements or interview alterations have been instilled. The Graduate and Placement Rates are available but do not affect our Admissions process.

My school has always had a very thorough admissions evaluation/interview process. A typical inteview for admissions takes about 2 hours where admissions reps are trained to ask open ended questions to truly assess a potential students needs/goals in order to ensure they will be successful in our programs. We also look at criminal backgrounds and have a comittee that reviews backgrounds to ensure we are attracting a quality student that will graduate and benefit from our training programs. We also perform DOA seconds on our interviews to assist our reps in attracting a quality student.

I worked at a school who used admissions testing for acceptance, instructors would complain about the "Quality" of the students.Criminals can pass admissions tests. They are not unintelligent. Here we require a background check which prevents alot of problems.

Our institution has implemented a process that requires a prospective student to disclose any felony or misdemeanor they may have. We have regular meetings with our program chairs to make sure we are up to date with what is happening in their departments. We also have a career services office that is available to speak with students to answer their questions.

The admissions requirements for the nursing program are aimed at ensuring that students who begin the program are capable of being successful in the classroom. Math is a problem for most students. we do a math skills assessment prior to the start date with sufficient time to have them take our free math training program. we also inform students of the background checks that employers will require so they can adjust their behavior or weed themselves out and perhaps go to another school for some other form of training.

I believe that our interview process has tightened up to ensure the right student is being put in the right school giving us the ability to walk away from a student that is not ready for the type of requiremnts they will be asked to follow. It helps us to know we are making the right choice for a student tat we believe will be successful at a different school other than ours.
