I believe that the most meaningful information to provide to a student when choosing what school to attend is the completion and graduation rates. I believe that once a student sees what others have done it will enhance their ability to make an informed decision.

I feel that completing the entrance and exit counseling with financial aid and on the student loans website is very beneficial to students. This way they understand exactly what to expect as they enroll and as they graduate, as far as their loans and payments.

The full financial obligations and course requirements/expectations are the most helpful for our students.

Spelling out precisely what the cost of their program will be, along with all the required courses and hours is most beneficial. To let them know exactly what they need is what we all should be striving to do.

Depending on the school's approach to compliance with each item, there are likely opportunities to set proper expectations for incoming students to ensure superior levels of service

job placement rates really give students an idea of what other have been able to do with the education earned at my institution and so it serves as food for thought and insight into what their outcomes could be like.

I think all of them have their importance, but the Gainful Employment is huge. I think this disclosure is important because it maps out all of the students questions. It shows that we have nothing to hide and it allows the student to make an accurate decision

I found all the integrity requirements or disclosures to be very meaningful but the one that stood out to me is the student right-to- know disclosures. I found that to be the most meaningful for assisting students in making an important decision towards their education.

We have Financial Aid meet with all prospective students and parents if applicable, so they know all costs involved. Nothing is hidden

We are completely up front about the cost of our programs as well. In addition to receiving specific cost data from the Assistant Director of Admissions, the student meets with and has a detailed discussion with our financial advisors to make sure there are no questions pertaining to cost of the college.

The disclouser form gives comfort to the student. Sometimes students have questions about placement or employment. A student catalog makes students at ease, that their questions are answered when the do read the catalog. A lot of time students are afraid to ask questions, but many times, other students are wanting to ask the same thing. They see the Sate Board of College and Schools, they have a "backup" that each statement they initial; they understand the expectations of the school and themselves.

Be upfront, what will you gain if you don't. Word of mouth is them most powerful advertising we have. Especially with technology - it can ruin who are are. If a potential client hears somthing through their friends, facebook,or even twitter - because they thought to believe something and they find out later - it wasn't what they thought it to be -- you put the school and yourself in jeopardy because you were not honest and upfront - nobody wins. When it comes down to it - it is all about one word when it comes to an enrollment and its called perception

A prepared representative knowing exactly what is needed with the knowledge of not misrepresentation of any federal regulation. To clarify and providing the student with all aspects truthfully about his or her education. Making sure all requirements are met.

It is very important to be transparent about costs. Every prospective student that comes through our doors for a campus visit has the opportunity to meet with a financial aid coordinator. Most take advantage of that opportunity and recieve a cost estimate after the tour. The student will then return a few days later to recieve individualized cost details after our financial aid department has time to process their application.

We disclose the full cost of the tuition for the degree program they have an interestt during the interview. We also specify the time frame it will take in order to earn the degree; this way the student is fully aware of the expense they will be taken on. Part of our admission process is for the student to then have an appointment with finanial aid. The Finacial Aid Coordinators will work with the on F/A if any and what their degree progrm will cost.

I encounter students that have a criminal history. It's very important to discuss the hardships they will face after earning their degree and competing for available positions. Thier "fight" will not be over because they have a degree. Employers evaluate many more qualifications than just education and it's important that the student understand their history poses a liability to an employer and the additional steps they should take prior to graduation to increase the likelihood they will be hired.

I appreciate working for a school that relly considers the student. Not only do we go over the cost of the program, we also post this information on our website. The student also is assigned to their own financial aid analyst who can answer all the quiestions. They are given their direct phone # when they enroll.

We provide the Accreditation disclosure and speak about programmatic accreditation versus our regional accreditation. We also provide employment and graduation statistics. I urge prospective students to go the the website regarding the bureau of labor and statistics and to narrow down to the area in which they live to look at industry expectations for hirability and wage. We discuss general information about loans, about taking excess if they are eligible and how it can affect them as well as how paying a little out of pocket can benefit them in the long run. I use an example by asking or making a general guess of range of what the student pays in a cell phone bill monthly. Then I apply that price to investing out of pocket into themselves and their education monthly. Then I multiply that price by the length of time(in months)it could possibly take them to finish the program they are looking for. I then make it real by saying if they paid out of pocket while going to school now, it could save them from the amount of loans they will need to pay back in the future. I would be in violation if I spoke about their eligibility as only our Educational Funding department can cousel them once the student fills out the FAFSA, but I will speak about general information about loans and how to work smarter now so they don't have to work harder in the future to pay off loan debt. I do not make promises nor elude to their eligibility, I strictly speak about loan debt in general and strategic ways for the student to start to think about a plan regarding their financial future. our EF department then helps them make that plan.

I believe when a student enrolls in a Criminal Justice program, there is an additional employment disclosure that the applicant has to sign. It basically states that a felony conviction of any type may prohibit them from becoming gainfully employed in a Criminal Justice related occupation.'

This can also be a positive because then the student does waste their financial resources going down a road that will not lead to employment.

I agree with Robert. I am a new, small school for Cosmetic Therapy, with only recent graduates. The new students were very anxious to know what the graduation rate was and the pass rate on the board licensure. It provides confidence in the new student to work hard and be successful. I find it to be counterproductive to guess what other schools might be doing, what works or doesn't work for them. I have enough responsibility to my students.
Anyone who misleads a potential student on graduation and placement rates should be held accountable. The student is making an investment and looks to us for guidance and honesty.

All of the information provided has been helpful. It's nice to see why we have regulations in place and the reasoning behind it. I always thought the 5 day refund process was only our school's regulation and not just a OACCS regulation.
