The Consequences of Noncompliance
In addition to students and graduates, who else do you feel is affected by noncompliant actions?
Faculty, Staff, the school and the programs the school offers.
I would say everyone involved within the program. From the director all the way down to the part time instructor to the students.
Staff, faculty, could even flow as far out as the community.....
Employees of the school, community members, vendors/customers of the school are also affected by being noncompliant. The reputation of the school is affected, and will be seen and heard by many other people.
Staff, administration, and the community.
The staff is affected as well the community.
I totally agree with Ruth again. The employees, community, other technical schools, etc. The places that do the externships may stop using students from any such school. Everyone is affected.
The surrounding community is definitely affected. Many people move into areas because of jobs and because of quality of schools for their children. People are proud of their local elementary, high schools, and colleges. Damage to any one of these hurt community pride. For colleges, employers can be justified in having second thoughts of hiring a graduate of a school in the headlines for alleged or proven noncompliant actions.
Ultimately, everyone is affected by noncompliant actions of an institution, this may include, faculty, staff, community, and future students.
The faculty is affected as well. Once trust is gone, it affects everybody associated with the school name.
The faculty, the staff, employers, other career colleges, and the potential future student(s)
I think the easier question would be "Who is not affected by noncompliant actions?" It seems that that a lot of people could potentially be impacted. The students and graduates are definitely on top of the list, but everyone that works at the facility, including those at facilities that are linked by larger corporations, can be deeply affected. This will then ripple down to their families, their communities, etc.
Faculty, staff, the corporation who owns the school, and ultimately, the community are all affected by noncompliant actions.
We always need to remember that we are part of a community, which is part of a bigger community. It is hard to tell where the effect of the ripple will end...it may be generations.
I agree with Chris. The consequences of noncompliance have a ripple effect. It starts with the current students and staff, but extends much further, affecting graduates, current employers of the school's graduates as well as potential students, potential employers, and future employees of the school.
The consequences are truly far-reaching beyond the students. The school, the community, and even families and friends of students and graduates could be affected. Unattained goals coupled with the disappointment of not completing their program could increase stress levels at home as well.
All students (current and future), faculty, staff, the school, the school's stakeholders, the community, employers and other career colleges and schools.
The college or institution will be affected. They will have disappointed and failed a potential graduate as well as future student. If noncompliant actions continue to happen within an organization, the organization will eventually fall and fail with their own expectations and outcomes.
Christopher,
This is an excellent point. Once a student's or potential student's trust in a school has been compromised, it very much can lead to mistrust across the board - and a student may therefore be demotivated to not pursue their career dreams and goals.
