Catalog Submissions

What is the purpose of form PS-042R, Summary of Changes?

Johnny,

That is correct. The PS-042 is also used for changes to catalogs (including addenda and supplements) as well as changes to the enrollment agreement.
JP Mehlmann

We use form PS-042R to make the TWC aware of changes to existing courses/seminars, whether we ar adding information or deleting informantion.

Leigh,
That is correct- any changes include programs, catalogs, enrollment agreements and more. The consequences for failure to submit notification can be severe. See the PS-042R form for details.

JP Mehlmann

The purpose of the ps-042R is to notify any changes to TWC.

Audrey ,
In addition to the PS-042R form, the school is expected to provide a narrative explanation of all changes. Any changes to your catalog, supplement, or addendum ( such as periodic staff changes, tuition, calendar, etc.) result in the need to send in the form, explanation, and attachments to the CSC.

The purpose of the form PS-042R is for notification of any changes made to the Catalog and Catalog Supplement.

Audrey N.

The narrative of the PS-042R is crucial to the TWC personnel reviewing the notification. This is especially true for a larger institution who has multiple additions/deletions/changes comprising the PS-042R. Because you are required to place the old verbiage as welll as the new/proposed verbiage for each modification, PS-042Rs can be very lengthy. The summary then allows TWC to provide a quicker more expedited approval.

Ronald,
The usual measurement to determine if a program revision must be submitted is length of time, such as clock hours or even credit hours. For example, if you revised a 900 hour program to be 1200 hours, that would be more than a 25% change (300 hour increase/900 hour program = 33% change). This would necessitate a revised program application as well as PS-042R revision to catalog. Even revisions that are less than 25% require a catalog revision.

How would you know if a catalog revision is also necessary? I mean how would you calculate the 25%?

Elisama,
That is correct. In addition, the PS-042R is used to quickly reference and review specific changes in the Catalog or Enrollment Agreement, without have to review the entire document(s). Be sure to follow the PS-042R instructions - and explanation is required for each Catalog change, which must specify the changes made.

JP Mehlmann

The PS042R provides a way to streamline the process. Reviewer(s)are able to quickly assess if the request is valid under the rules and regulations, before delving deeper to address the particulars of the changes.

I agree. Keeping a desk copy of your school catalog helps track necessary changes as they happen and ensures all changes are made and documented when it comes time to submission to CSC.

The PS-042 also offers a great and quick way to review when various changes were made and approved during the life of the school.

Doris,
In addition to the TWC form, the school is expected to provide a narrative explanation of all changes. I suggest you review the instructions for the TWC form. Any changes to your catalog or addendum ( such as periodic staff changes, tuition, calendar, etc.) result in the need to send in the form and attachments to the TWC.

JP Mehlmann

I find this form helpful as you can recap your changes to make sure that all have been noted to TWC.

Gregory,
That is correct but, if you look at the many items on the PS-042R form, changes could involve school policies, enrollment agreements, staff/faculty changes, etc. Basically, the PS-042R form is used for any changes to Catalogs, Addenda, Supplements, and Enrollment Agreements. The TWC/CSC also requests the PS-042R submission include a separate sheet describing the revised, new, and deleted changes that are summarized on the PS-042R.

JP Mehlmann

A summary of the changes being submitted for review and approval by TWC for a program revision.

Daniel,

That is correct. This extends to changes in Catalog Supplements and/or Addenda and Enrollment Agreements including price/tuition changes, staff/faculty changes, class start/end dates, and anything else that changes in these documents.

JP Mehlmann

The purpose of form PS-042R is to notify TWC of requested changes to the existing catalog

Hello Richard,

This is what needs to be don any time that a change is made to the catalog and the addendum. Also make sure that you send a separate list of changes identifying what has been changed with each submission of the PS-042R
