Addressing Team Challenges
How might you address any challenges in the teams you work with using this information?
I really enjoyed learning about Belbin's 9 Team Roles. This is definately something I would like to learn more about. Thank you for making me aware of this resource. Being able to build a balanced team is important, but difficult task to undertake. This resource is a great addition to what I have learned over the years.
Thanks for sharing your ideas, Mitra! It sounds like you have a plan to move forward by taking advantage of the strengths of your team members. Excellent!

I can now delegate tasks more appropriately as I can address the strengths of my team members.
Placing members in areas doing tasks that correlates with their strengths will be great.
Thank you for posting about teams, Samantha. It's important to maintain effectiveness when dealing with team challenges, and it sounds like you take that into consideration.

If I feel like we are having challenges with in our team I either address the person or I tell my higher up. But for the most part I dont really see to many challenges. We all have our diffrences and what not but it all works out in the end.
Carol, Glad to hear the information is helpful! How specifically will you use this information?
Dr. Jean Norris
I am going to use more of the model behaviors, because the other team members are used to that - so - good info!
All great ideas, Timothy. What specifically will you need to do to put these ideas in place?
Dr. Jean Norris
I can use the info from ad107 to demonstrate the accepted industry methods of communication that we could be utilizing. AD107 could shed light on different methods of connectivity that we are not using. AD107 could challenge the status quo just by alerting coworkers of other ways to do things that are at least as effective and efficient as current processes.
Thanks for sharing your ideas Katherine.

working smart, listening and learning from others who are ... give enough space in terms of time to individual motivation, and a healthy team work.
I get the sense that you like to plan things out and have everything in order before you take action. How do you get buy in from your team to accomplish your plan?

Before I begin to assemble a team to address the problem, I need to plan my approach. This means thinking about who will be on the team, what my time frame is, and what resources I'll need to address the problem at hand.
I'm glad the module helped Monica! Good luck with your team in the future.
This module has been of great assistance in figuring out role everyone in our team is. It will help to shape our communication and strategies in the future. I think this has given me a better understanding of how and what each person can bring to the table.
It's very true that each generation has something to offer if we give them the opportunity to effectively express their ideas. Understanding the generational styles allows us to better address the challenges when they come up and it sounds like you are ready and willing to do that. Best of luck with your new awareness and opportunity.
I know know to keep an more open mind set when discussing challenges with my team. It used to be my way or no way but I am willing more now to listen to what they have to say. Every generation has something to offer.
I've actually been thinking about this question and the answer I came up with is this...my feeling is that some of the team members aren't 100% sure of their roles, the process of following-through on commitments, etc. There's a breakdown in communication and since I have more of a leadership role, I am going to try to get the other directors to understand what their roles are, how they can work with their team and "hopefully" have less stress, better working relationships with the students, etc. I'm excited about implementing what I learned in this module.
You have some nice insight here, Jessica. It sounds like you are using your self-awareness to make things better with your team. I'm curious, what steps do you plan to take with your team to ensure they also move forward?
