I am guilty on hectic days...I'm thinking off all the things I have to finish before the end of the day, that I'm not giving the student in front of me my undivided attention.

I'm going to try to put push that "to do" list to the back burner so that I can give the student my attention.

I will use the 3 "R's" Repeat, Rephrase, and Reiterate.

Ahhh...that's a great awareness, Elaine. So many people think about what they're going to say next while the other person is speaking. Now that you know this...what will you do differently?

I tend to limit my listening by thinking about other things in my head while I should be listening to the person who is speaking to me.
