It's so important to understand the difference between empathy and sympathy.
Listen effectively-shut down the noise and truly pay attention. Respond appropriately, be aware of biases, repeat and reflect. I was able to learn different body languages and what it can portray if not careful.

Everythings communicates in interactions, especially non-verbal communication. Important to work on empathy & sympathy and know the difference.
listening more staying focued and being abkle to read their body language are keys to success.
Wow, empathy and sympathy, that's a hard one.
don't multitask, listen, don't get distracted, don't interupt, respond appropriatley
Body language is key. Making the prospective student comfortable the moment you meet in person.
Rephrasing. This lets the student know you are listening to their questions and concerns.
Use more "How" and "What" sentances.
Be aware of body language, especially crossed arms.
Actively listen. Avoid multi tasking.
Listen to understand, not to respond. If you are already thinking of a response before the person you're communicating with is done speaking, you are not listening.
Sympathy and empathy are different, but valuable communication tools to use when interacting with students.
Body language is so important to know and be aware of it.
I want to learn listening effectively
