My Role

As an instuctor, it is important that we address our student with disablities correctly. We must not sterotype student because of there skill level.

Verdell,
I am not sure I follow you. What are we educating ourselves about. Are you talking about the use of terminology, or are you talking about expectations?

Dr. Jane Jarrow

I also agree with you. I have friends with disabilities and I can tell that it bothers them to be identified or addressed incorrectly. It's a matter of educating ourselves.

Regina,
Isn't it a stereotype to think that their skill level is a necessary consequence of their disability? Oh... wait. Maybe you used the term "skill level" to equate with what I would call "functional limitations." In that case, I'm with you!
