Avoiding Stereotypes
Being appropriate and PC at all times at work is something that is written in policy, but it sometimes the hardest thing to adhere to. I am glad that in the field of education there are more policies in place to prevent these types of conversations from taking place.
I have always considered myself conscious of stereotypes but was enlighten by a lot of the reading - especially not focusing on discussion topic such as - "Its a great day for a walk to a person in a wheel chair.

I'm glad as well, but just when I think I've done a fabulous job to training on the subject, I get a phone call that someone said something inappropriate to a student and we need to do damage control.
