Kevin,

Welcome to the forum! You have mentioned many of the key reasons that catalogs are necessary. The catalog is the framework by which we deliver information to students and staff alike. If both parties will allow the catalog to serve as the conductor of their daily concert of activities they will operate by the standards of the institution.

Crystal,

You make a great point! Catalogs are a reflection of every facet of the educational facilities. An employee should always take great care to read and understand the catalog's content.

The school catalog spells out expectations and policies that affect both students and the institution. It is the primary information resource on policy for the school.

Catalogs provide both students and employees with a wealth of information. Having access to a catalog with detailed information about an institution empowers students and makes employees more knowledgeable.

Catalogs serve as a primary source of information related to institutional policy and procedure; academic outcomes, structure, and requirements; and required Disclosures. Having multiple documents without clear connections would make research difficult, if not impossible in some cases.

These are necessary for students to make well-informed decisions and be aware of their rights and responsibilities. They also gives staff members a reference guide that ensures they are acting with integrity, conducting themselves appropriately, and providing students and prospects with required information.
