Dealing with situations that require third-party documentation can be very difficult due to the sad situations. It is difficult for students to share the full story of these situations which really places you in a difficult situation of not being able to move forward with aid. It is very important to remain supportive and provide suggestions on how to document. If you continue to provide suggestions the student may think of someone that is aware of the situation. Also, it will depend on how strenous your requirements are for third-party statemnts.

I have been working with student for over 10 years and I have always seem to run into this problem the student did not have that third party person to write them a letter it sad to say but must do have a home church that they attend so there is no one that really knows them or there issues, or they are to embrassed they never share there problems with anyone. Some of the student don't even have a teacher that remember them or just can not write the letter because again they did not know about the student issues.
